FAQ
What should I do if my hens aren't using the nesting box?
If your hens are hesitant to use the new nesting box, place some familiar bedding or items from their previous nesting area inside to encourage them. Chickens naturally follow each other’s behavior, so once one or two hens start using the box, the rest of the flock will typically follow.
What if the nesting pad smells? How to use and when to replace it?
Odor is natural latex. Air out before use. Avoid sunlight. Replace if deformed or worn
What if the hens scratch the pad?
Initially, some hens may exhibit a natural scratching behavior on the pad. Based on our observations, hens typically fully adapt after their second or third pad change (or after a short familiarization period), resulting in perfect rollaway performance. Please allow time for adaptation and monitor the egg collection closely.
Can I use this nesting box outdoors?
Yes. The nesting box body is crafted from waterproof ABS plastic, making itperfectly suited for both indoor coops and outdoor setups-including rainyor muddy climates. It even features built-in drainage holes for easyhose-down cleaning.
Can I add straw or wood shavings to the nesting tray?
You can add a small amount of straw or wood shavings for added comfort. However, do not add too much, as this may prevent eggs from rolling downthe slope into the collection tray.

The best had to height options for the taller side, and I chose the lower setting, since our birds are all small breed varieties of chickens and ducks. I set an egg in and it didn't roll all the way down the first time, but did the second time. I'm sure the higher height setting would help, but I didn't want to risk the eggs or bird comfort.
We tested the size with a call duck hen that's on the bigger side and she fit pretty well, but I'm not sure she liked how flat the nesting pad was. I would be concerned that a large breed chicken might hang off the edge enough that if pointed the wrong way, she might lay an egg off of the side.
With all of that being said, I really like the concept and it hasn't broken yet. In hoping it lasts long enough to break some of the hens of their obsessive broody behavior. Although i imagine they will just avoid this and lay somewhere else if they want to keep their eggs, lol.
I would definitely recommend giving it a try. It's such a great idea, but with room for improvement.

Chickens refused to use and saw it as pointless.

I love that the eggs stay cool in the tray. Great for Florida summers.

No more cracked eggs from hens jumping in and out. The tray protection is smart design.

It’s a really great concept and I really wanted to love it. We have a few chickens that always want to sit in eggs and this would be really helpful to get the eggs from them right away. But in not sure it will last in the long term.

I really like the idea of these laying boxes, so I got the 3 pack. I have had them for a couple of weeks now and most of my eggs have gone down into the holding trays and are unharmed. Today I went out to collect eggs and one of the hinges on one of the boxes holding tray was broken off. Not sure if a hen stepped on it to hard or just from opening and closing for the past couple of weeks. I would like to order another set of 3 but hoping they will hold up longer. I may try to superglue it.

The best investment I__e made for my chickens this year. Clean eggs are finally a reality!

We haven’t had a single broken egg since we switched. It__ saved us so much money and frustration.

My chickens laughed at me and went back to their cardboard boxes. They don’t seem to understand why money is being spent on nesting boxes and materials when that money can be used for treats. They are perfectly content with their cardboard boxes.
Chickens refused to use and saw it as pointless.
JCardwell –
This roll-away nesting box is a good idea in theory, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work well for my flock. So far, my chickens won’t go into it at all, and even if they eventually do, I don’t think they’ll like the angle the box sits at. My hens typically lay eggs facing forward, so their bodies would block the egg from rolling down into the collection tray anyway.
CoNative –
My pullets had it destroyed in less than a day.
JYoungblood –
The idea seems like a good one. Especially if you already have nesting boxes. But my chickens would have nothing to do with them. They laid elsewhere and continued to eat their eggs. They were easy to assemble. But, just didn’t work for us. Also the plastic is easy to break by accident. Should be fully made of metal in my opinion.
Hobby_Hatch_Henry –
Fast shipping and the item was exactly as described. Great addition to our backyard flock setup.
